A surprise on Easter from a Kolkina Doupka Cave , Ponor Mt., North West Bulgaria . During the Easter holidays, a group of Bulgarian cave explorers from different clubs returned to the cave. The surveying of the new found passages founded during last expedition resulted to new depth of the cave. Kolkina Cave is already -540 meters long and over 4km long. The end is not yet reached and we expect new cave record . In fact, at this stage, the Kolkina hole has already „fought“ with itself for the most profound cave in Bulgaria. Let us wish to our colleagues fruitful research and multiplying discoveries. In the mapping and exploration of the cave participated cavers from SC „Pod Ruba“, SC Underground, SC Akademik and SC Iskar – all from Sofia . We hope that colleagues from PK „Pod Raba“ will soon present a more exciting presentation for the new passages of Kolkina Cave . Certainly the cave will have something to surprise us in the future.
